Our girls!

Aren't we adorable?

A gift From Allison

Allison gave Emma one of her stickers, she must like her little sis.

1st day home

We are home from the hospital and loving every minute with baby Emma. We are all a little tired but still happy! Allison loves her sister, she always wants to hold her and she makes sure I have EVERYTHING I need to take care of her...I usually end up with 3-4 burp cloths around me when I am feeding her. Emma is a very mellow baby she likes to sleep and eat, mostly eat!

Birth

For all of you who care to know here is how Emma's birth went...
August 28th
12:00am-Started having contractions
2:30- I woke Ben Up
3:00-Dropped Alli off at babysitters and Went to hospital
3:45-My water broke and I was dilated to a 5
4:00- I got my epideral
8:50-I started to push
8:55 am- Emma was born!!! (that's right, I only pushed for 5 minutes, infact I only pushed 3 times!)

The staff at Scripps La jolla was marvelous, I would recommend them to anyone. The postpardum rooms were filled so I had to be in a smaller but still private room after Emma's delivery. Now we are home and ready to start life with baby #2.

Pretty Pretty Princess!

The San Diego Zoo

We thought it would be fun to do one more family outing before the baby arrives so we went to the zoo. Allison loved the goats at the petting zoo, and we got to see the brand new baby giraffe.

Music Mat

This is a music mat I made for our church's nursery class. The kids take turns tossing a bean bag and whatever square it lands in they sing the song that corresponds with the picture. If the bean bag landed on the school bus they would sing "The Wheels on the Bus" ...you get the idea!

The Waiting Game

I am officially at 38 weeks in my pregnancy, that right I only have 14 days left! Well...14 days until the day I am calculated to have a baby, but we all know that babies come when they want. The crib is set up, bags are packed, the hospital registration forms filled out, the infant car seat is even installed So now it is just a waiting game. When will baby Emma arrive? Ben's guess is September 5th my guess (or wishful thinking) is the August 26th. I do think it would be fun to have her on September 3rd because it's labor day..HAHA I would be in labor on labor day!

Perks of the Job!

Since Ben's job is at the end they are getting rid of the mountains of plans which happen to make excellent doodling paper. Allison and I love to color and paint on these big sheets of paper and it seems to be less messy than using regular sized paper.

Bubbles

Allison LOVES bubbles! Just an FYI do not buy the Gazillion bubbles, they do not work and they are more money. The little Ice cream bubbles work the best, they smell good, and you can buy them at Target in the party section. They last a long time because you don't have to use as much and you still get way more bubbles than the Gazillion ones.

This is a picture of the building Ben is working on, besides the trees the real thing looks just as good as the picture. His job will be officially finished at the end of the month and then onto another beautiful building.

If I could remove one word from my daughters extensive vocabulary it would be the word NO. Of course if I did take that word away she would talk far less than she does now. I think she gets a sense of empowerment every time she uses the word, I can tell by the little smile she gives when she says it. Its to bad I can't get paid a dollar everytime she says NO I would be a rich woman!

Can I get some more Ice Please!!!!

I have always prefered to have ice in my beverages but never in my life have I had the uncontrollable urge to eat ice like I currently have. I have like 8 ice cube trays filled in my freezer. Yesterday my husband broke one of the trays and I actually was sad. I know it is bad for your teeth and I need to get this habit under control, but I am so looking forward to checking into the hospital for delivery and asking for a huge cup of ice chips!

Allison is such a little artist.
Here are two of her first paintings!
Well, apparently having a blog is the thing to do so I jumped on the band wagon. I hesitated because I didn't want to be a follower or unoriginal but I also didn't want to miss out on something that could be pretty cool. So this is my official first posting I hope there will be more in the future, but with soon to be two kids we shall see!
