We love free family fun!

My parents surprised us with zoo passes so Emma and I tried them out last week. We had a great time and I can't wait to go with the whole family. Thanks mom and dad...you rock!Last Saturday there were so many wonderful things going on and we managed to squeeze them all in.
First we went to the Book Party at Balboa park. It was a great event to promote literacy. They had dancers perform, an author speak, and a few kids recited poems. Then each child received two free books and a snack.
After the Book Party we headed to a friends birthday party and then on to Art Walk. Art walk is also free and they have a kids walk where there are lots of crafts and fun things for the kids to do. They even have a circus school perform and of course face painting. Emma decided she wanted her feet painted instead. We had so much fun and we didn't spend a dime.

Trip to Washington

Over Spring Break we flew to Washington. The pilot let the girls come into the cockpit she even let them press some buttons, she must have had kids because she was so good with them.

Our first visit was with our friends from Renton. Oh how we miss them! We had a fun filled afternoon catching up and playing.

We also visited my best friends from high school. Allison loved baby Tessa! It was fun to have all of us and our girls together.

Grandpa and Grandma took us to see Hop which the girls enjoyed. They also got to see Grandmas doll collection. Emma even got to try on some muck lucks that were my moms when she was little.
While we were there the woolly bear Caterpillars decided to go into their cocoons. I love the picture where you can see through the outer cocoon. It was really interesting to watch them create their cocoons, they use the hairs from their bodies and mix it in with the silky threads they spin (not sure if spin is the correct term.)
We didn't get to see the Isabella Tiger Moth emerge from her cocoon but Grandma sent us a picture. Moths and butterflies are amazing little creatures.

The girls had fun at recess at Grandmas school. They also got to go to space with Grandmas class I will post pictures of that someday ;)

Easter Fun

The Saturday before Easter we had a fun filled day of activities and friends.
We went to a local Spring Fling and egg hunt. There were so many people it was a little crazy but we had a good time.
The girls were invited to a friends house for a playgroup/egg hunt. They loved it especially the giant tortoise that resides in our friends back yard. His name is bruiser and our little friend decided to decorate his shell for Easter with some side walk chalk. I randomly included a picture of the pasta we had for dinner because it was just so cute :)
The kiddos loved the hammock and hunting for eggs.
They also decorated cookies...yummy. And yes there is a duplicate picture from above but it is so cute I think it is worth seeing twice ;)
We dyed some eggs and the Easter bunny left goodie-bags for the girls. Emma wasted no time opening up her chocolate bunny.
Emma' s Easter Cuteness!
Allison's Easter Cuteness!
Being sisters is so much fun when you get along :)
Allison was so done with pictures as you can see above. Emma thought Allison was being funny so she put her hand on her face and told me to take a picture...funny girl.
