Memorial Day Weekend

The girls had lots of fun in the pool...it was freezing water but they didn't seem to mind.
Ben and I worked on sanding and painting some benches I have been wanting to redo for awhile. these are the before and the during pictures I don't have an after picture yet because I am still going to paint some flowers and a bird on the front and because when we were taking it down stairs I did this...

So I rolled my foot and it REALLY hurt! I was trying to tough it out and wait until Tuesday to go to the DR but I ended up giving in and going to the ER. My friend Cortney took me and we were there forever...thanks again Cortney! I looked ridiculous at the ER I had paint in my hair and on my ear...and yes on my foot as you can see in the picture but I am sure I have looked worse. There were some interesting people in the ER and most of them had ankle/foot problems as well. My foot isn't broken but super sprained so I get to use crutches since I can't even stand on my foot.

Right after I hurt my foot I was laying in bed in pain and Allison kept bringing me things. She brought me the phone, a flower, a card, nail clippers, some books to read, and she even had Ben go pick me up some food. It was cute to see how caring and nurturing she was...I felt very loved!

Harvesting Radishes

Radish so red, radish so red, plucked from the heart of your warm little bed. Sprinkle the salt on top of your head...kerplop...crunch, crunch,crunch...DELICIOUS!

Dancing Girls

Dress up and dancing are an everyday occurrence in our house!

Can't get enough of my Emma Lu

She makes me smile almost all day long...I say almost because there are the rare occasions like yesterday when she took off her poopy diaper and smeared it all over her cute pink chair my smile disapeared really fast. But the smile returned when I saw her smiling and saying "aw-ohhh gucky" in her cute little voice.

Preschool Graduation

Our little preschool group has finished up for the year so we decided to have a little graduation to celebrate. The kids got to tell about their favorite thing they learned and then they got a certificate. We finished up by having banana splits...yummy! The kids were so cute in their graduation hats and they were good listeners for our short certificate ceremony. I love how Allison looks totally bored in the bottom right picture...just wait until high school graduation then she will be really bored!
Emma wanted to be a graduate like her big sister.

She loves books!

A Night to Remember

Last month we were invited to a special dinner date with a group of our friends. It was hosted by a wonderful couple from our church and they really went all out. They even sent us invitations including a menu that we could choose our dinner . When we arrived they had their patio set up all fancy and we decided to dress fancy so it worked out great! We had fake flower corsages and some of us even wore old prom dresses and tuxedos. Here we are The Warners, The Cooks, The Smurthwaites & The Teeples

Watch out Charlie's Angels...these moms are taking over.

Dinner was really good and the company was even better. We are blessed to have met such wonderful friends here, we will miss them when we move but I know I will always keep in touch with these special friends.

After dinner we even got our pictures taken...it was like high school prom all over again...but way more fun this time.

After dessert , telling our stories of how we met, and a heart to heart from our hosts we headed home to our kids. As we left that night I was a little more in love with Ben and so excited to spend the rest of eternity together. I hope we are as happy as the sweet couple who gave us such a wonderful evening, and I look forward to hosting an evening like this for others some day too!
