Blessing of friends

Today we had the great opportunity to go to Andrew's baby blessing. Andrew is the son of our good friends Robyn and Tyler. Tyler gave Andrew a beautiful blessing and we spent the rest of the afternoon enjoying the company of friends. Tyler's parents and some of his siblings were there as well, they are amazing and so nice...They loved Allison(of course!) We ate lunch, fed the ducks, and played Frisbee. The scenery was so beautiful and I am so grateful that Heavenly Father gave us such a pretty place to live. Andrew is such an adorable baby and we are glad to have the Welcker family as our friends.

What we have been up to...

Well I finally cut my hair, I have been telling Ben for months that I wanted to cut it short and I finally did. I took 7 inches off my hair but its not that noticeable because I used to ALWAYS wear my hair up so most people didn't realize how long my hair was. This is not the best picture of me but its the best I could get with Allison as my photographer.

As a family we also planted a mini-garden. Our porch doesn't get the best sun exposure but we have managed to get some radishes and green onions to grow. Ben's grandparents offered their garden space for us to use as well so this weekend we are going to get started over there. I am going to try square foot gardening we will see how it goes.

Emma is SOOOO close to crawling, it is so cute how Allison will demonstrate crawling for her. I am always trying new things with Allisons fun curly hair...I braided it today! Alli is still our little princess, she even insists on sleeping in her tu-tus and dresses. Emma loves Allison she laughs at her all day even when Allison is sitting on her or pushing her over she just loves it!

Easter

In our family we have decided to do all of our non-religious Easter activities on Saturday and save Sunday for what Easter is really for to remember our Savior Jesus Christ. So here are a bunch of pictures from our fun Saturday morning.

We wrote to the Easter Bunny and asked him to come to our house on Saturday and he did (he is so considerate) leaving some wonderful baskets filled with goodies for the girls. Allison loved all of her treasures. She kept asking how the Easter bunny got in to our house then she would say "he is very tricky!" Emma rolled clear across the room got an egg from Allison's basket then opened it and started chewing on the candy that was inside she is very tricky!

For our Easter fun we went to the YMCA Easter egg hunt, they teamed up with a local church and put on a whole mornings worth of fun. There was a bouncy house, snacks, crafts, an egg hunt of course, face painting and much more. We were sad that Ben had to work today and miss all the excitement so that is why there are so many pictures so he could feel like he was there! I hope you all have a wonderful Easter weekend!

Little bit of Easter fun

We joined some of the other moms and kids from our ward for an Easter egg hunt this morning. Allison had lots of fun finding her eggs...her favorite part was that one of them had quarters inside.

Our masterpieces

We picked up our finished pieces today from Color me Mine...aren't they lovely?

I think they turned out really cute!

Lately

Well I haven't posted in almost a week so it is time! March has been a little crazy around our house Ben has been working lots of long hours at work and has been doing a lot with his quartet. I have been bust preparing sharing time lessons for church, taking our car to the mechanic several times(hopefully it is healthy for awhile), chasing kids, making quiets books, going swimming with friends, making bread and sewing.
Yes, I said sewing! I finally got my machine fixed...it turns out there wasn't anything wrong with it...just issues with the person working it! I had the wrong kind of needle and that wrong needle was in backwards.
The picture on this post is of Allison's wonderfully curly hair! I love how super curly it gets when it is just washed.

St. Patrick's Day Parade

Ben had to work today so the girls and I ventured out to the St. Patrick's Day parade. There were tons of dogs so Allison loved it. There were also TONS of fire engines and paramedics vehicles...personally I think they had to many and why do they insist on honking there loud horns the entire parade route? Allison's favorite part of the parade was the dog riding the motorcycle and I let her take a picture of some dogs (see picture at the bottom right corner)
I have to say I love parades in general because it make me feel patriotic with all the flags and service men/women and then you add some bagpipes and it was the perfect way to spend a Saturday!

What a mess!

Well I am sure these pictures don't need much explanation. I feel I should mention this was her 5th poopy diaper I changed today and I think I deserve a medal. Emma has always pooped a lot in the hospital she pooped 8 times her first day of life...I should have taken that as a sign of what was ahead. How can something so little poop so much...honestly! And while she relaxes with a book I am scrubbing both our outfits trying to remove the un-removable.

Color me Mine

Today the girls and I went to Color Me Mine a paint your own ceramic studio. They were having a special Horton Hears a Who event. We got to go in our PJ's and Alli got some cool Horton ears and a movie poster. I picked out a cupcake dish to paint and Allison picked out a cat...but then she decided she wanted to be like me so we both did cupcakes. They will be ready next Friday and then I can post a picture of our masterpieces. I loved being able to share my love for anything crafty with Allison it was a great girls day out...the best part was the naps on the way home. The only thing better would have been if I had gotten a nap too.

Precious Cargo

Sometimes when we go on walks Allison likes to walk so I don't take the double stroller but apparently this is a double stroller! She decided to ride in the storage basket, it was really cute!

Surgery

I debated getting rid of this penguin when he got a hole in his head and started leaking little beads all over, but then I thought I wouldn't want someone to get rid of me if I had a hole in my head...I would want them to fix me. Besides I am trying to teach Allison to take care of her things because we can't just get new ones. So our beloved penguin underwent surgery this afternoon. I played the role of the skilled surgeon and Allison played the role of loving companion. She was so cute holding the penguin's hand/flipper. She said "don't worry I am here. It won't hurt!" After I finished stitching up his head then he went to recovery where Allison proceeded to check his vitals. After that Allison wrapped him up and sang him a lullaby so he could rest. The penguin is expected to make a full recovery...he will have a scar though!

Six months and growing!

Emma is growing up way to fast! She is already pushing herself up getting ready to crawl, and she is begining to scoot backwards. She loves her little piano sometimes she only hits it by accident but her face lights up with delight when she hears the noise.

Jello World

Tonight at my church they are having a jello contest and this is my entry. The evening's theme has to do with the world so I decided to make the world out of jello. It got a little messed up when I took it out of the pan but I think it still looks pretty good.

Zebra Print

Allison insisted on wearing the zebra print hat because it matches her zebra print shoes...the hat is a bit snug but that is only a minor detail to a two year old with so much style! She wore this outfit to the YMCA and when we were getting out of the car she told me "everyone is going to love my shoes and hat." As we were walking in one of the trainers commented on how cute she looked in her hat, before she would say thank you she stuck out her foot and shook it until he commented on her shoes. When he walked away she said "see mom he liked them."

Alli loves to read!

It amazes me how Allison can sit and re-tell most of her books. She likes Polar Bear, Polar Bear and Brown Bear, Brown Bear a lot she can read them almost word for word...that is until she sees me recording her and then she turns the snake into a cheetah but it is still cute!

Feet

I don't know why I like pictures of feet, but I do! One of my favorite pictures from when I was dating Ben is of our feet on the lawn at Temple square.

Emma first time on the sandy beaches of La Jolla

We took Emma and Allison to the beach becuase the weather has been so nice. They loved it! Emma liked grabbing handfuls of sand and to squish her toes around in it. She also tried to eat some sand and the grainy texture didn't seem to bother her. The first time we took Allison to the beach she hated the sand so I am glad Emma likes it...she is our little California girl!
