Thanksgiving

This year we spent Thanksgiving at my parents house. We had a yummy meal and the kids had fun with their grandparents. Allison did projects with Grandma and my
mom and I made blankets for the girls. Ben took on the project of making shelves for one of my mom cupboards and making me a super secret Christmas gift. All of us ended up getting sick at some point during our Thanksgiving vacation but that didn't stop us from having a great time. My mom and I even got up early to go shopping the day after Thanksgiving...yes we are officially crazy! We went to Joann's to get some flannel...it was ridiculous we waited 3 1/2 hours in that store to get our fabric cut, but by the time we realized how long it was taking it would have been such a waste to have waited so long and not get our fabric.

Allison addressed her envelope to Santa.
I had Allison do a picture letter to Santa and I wrote what she told me. I love how she included what Emma wanted.

I LOVE LEFTOVERS!!!

Life as I know it

I am happy to say that this is my life...Dancing, Dress-up, and darling little girls!
Thanks for coming to play Sophie!

Blanket for Haiti

After many attempts to sit down and sew a blanket to send out with the hats

I FINALLY finished. It isn't perfect but I think it is cute and I hope it keeps a sweet little baby safe and warm!

The Nef's came to visit

Our niece Emily and her cute little family came to visit last week. They were visiting other relatives in the area for Thanksgiving and decided they had to stop to visit us...we love visitors. It is funny that Ben and I are her Uncle and Aunt since she is only 3 years younger than me...Emily seems like a sister instead of a niece. Isn't her son just a doll? Thanks for coming Nef family we hope to see you soon.

A little bit of Emma

As of last week Emma will point to her nose when asked, it is so cute! She also loves to dance and her cheezy grin for the camera is hillarious.

She huffs and she puffs...

Emma loves to blow on her food, actually she just loves to blow on anything.

A Prince and his Princesses

Today Sophie and Payton got to hang out with us while their mommies did some packing. We had lots of fun they played dress-up, did a craft project, and even managed to eat some lunch. Payton kept cracking me up...he says the cutest things like when he went to the bathroom he said "don't worry my friends I will be back." and then when Allison came back from the bathroom he said "Allison you made it just in time to play with me."

The kids got into a box that was off limits and got out all the board games and their pieces ...I couldn't even get upset though because it was so funny to listen to them blame each other. and then finally Payton said "I did it Jordan but it was an accident!" They all helped pick up the game pieces and they promised not to get in that box again.
Payton kept calling himself the prince and the girls were his princesses. They had a blast playing the xylophone and singing I almost had to break up a fight over which song they would choose...it was between I am a Child of God and Twinkle, Twinkle. I tried to get a video but they would only dance for the camera not sing.

Twilight at Midnight

Last night was the midnight showing of Twilight and I must say I felt like a teenage girl for the night...but we all need to embrace our inner child right?!?! We had matching shirts, vampire teeth (thanks Jenni), and I even made mushroom ravioli just like Bella ate in the book. My favorite part of the night was actually before the movie when my friend Amanda was reading to Allison...so sweet!
Hot vampire girls!

I had lots of fun out with the girls, the movie had moments of greatness and a few let downs but I wasn't disappointed because I just love the story.

Caps To Cap-Hatian Project

Cortney, a friend of mine found this wonderful project over at http://www.mamatomama.org/ . The project was to make newborn hats from old t-shirts to send to the babies in Haiti...so last night after we had put our kiddos to bed we all met at my house for a night of cutting and sewing.

Cutting, sewing and some great conversation. Jenni and I loved the big pile of fabric trimmings, it is now in a jar on my craft desk and I am going to think of something great to do with it....maybe hair for a future monster project we shall see.

Thanks to Kailey for donating her shirts even though she couldn't come...we missed you. And thanks to Jen for stopping by for a little bit I hope you feel better.

Check out all those cute little hats.....Our final count was 100!

This project was fun and so simple but it made me feel so good inside to be serving others. I will probably never get to see a Haitian baby in one of these hats but I hope that they feel loved when they wear them. My goal today is to make 2-3 blankets to send to this wonderful cause. If you want to help with this project go check out the mama to mama blog it gives you all the details and instructions.

Alli's Leg Warmers

I went to the store this morning and found these cute socks to turn into leg warmers...I love the ruffles.

Leg Warmers

I Love leg warmers on my girls...they just look so stinkin' cute! However leg warmer can get a little pricey so I was SO excited when I found a tutorial showing how to make leg warmers out of women's socks. Since my kids were asleep when I found this tutorial I had to use some of my old socks...I love how the dark gray ones turned out! The polka dot ones turned out to small for Emma so the dolls now have a pair of leg warmers too. The green pair were not from socks I used an old shirt to see if I could figure something out...they are ok but the socks are so much easier.

Danica Hair

The other night Allison put on this blonde wig and said "look mom I have Danica hair" Danica happens to be one of my best friends and I thought it was cute how Allison was pretending to be her. So here are the pictures of Allison with Danica hair and the real Danica with my other best friend Amanda.
By the way Danica and Amanda I miss you...we need to get together soon!

A quick morning project...

While the girls were playing this morning I decided to make Alli a new purse. It is made from a pair of Emma's old shorts, I loved those shorts and just couldn't get rid of them so I re-purposed them instead! The Bow and Handle are made from the belt of one of Alli's old outfits. I think it turned out cute and Allison hasn't set it down all morning.
