California Girl

Emma is truly a California girl, she looks so cute in her sisters sunglasses. Emma is growing up way to fast...she sat up by herself for ten seconds today! She is also the drool queen, those darn teeth just won't come in. Her smile is infectious, wherever we go people are always commenting on how happy she is. (I think she will a people person) It is cute how she gets a little fussy around the time Ben should be home and then as soon as she sees him she is all smiles again. If he leaves the room she searches for him until he comes back...she is a daddy's girl just like Allison.
Groudhog Story
Driving home from the YMCA today I decided to tell Allison the story of groundhog day. She must have liked it becasue she made me tell it at least 10 times and each time she would tell part of it with me. This video is of her helping me tell the story.
By the way can any of you correctly spell the groudhogs name? I will leave the correct spelling as a comment on this post!

First trip to Disneyland
I took Allison and Emma to Disneyland for the first time this week. Our wonderful friend Jenn let us tag along with her and her girls, it was great! We stayed for two days and on day two another friend Isa joined us with her girls...watch out 9 crazy girls! Allison's face was priceless, she was in awe the whole time. Her favorite ride was Dumbo and she LOVED the princesses of course. She liked all the characters and was friendly to them...except the Mad Hater. She warmed up a little to him when he poured her a glass of pretend tea. I think this was the perfect time to go for our first time, the lines were short and the weather wasn't scorching hot or raining...It was jacket weather. I am going to post most of the pictures I took so sorry if your not Allison's Grandparents! And there will be more to come Jenn took a bunch of pictures I need to get from her. I hope you enjoy our first magical experience at Disneyland!

I've been TAGGED!!
A: The rules of the game are posted at the beginning.
B: Each player answers the questions about themselves.
C: At the end of the post, the player then tags 3 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know that they have been tagged and asking them to read your blog.
10 years ago: I was 14 and a freshmen in high school. I had just moved from Wyoming to Washington giving up cheerleading at my old school and doing drama at my new school. I was also probably complaining about all the rain in my new home. (I love the rain now!)
5 things on my to-do list today: Pack for Disneyland, Decorate cookies for Dinner mtg., Shave my legs, fill out this silly tagged thing, go to church.
5 Snacks I enjoy: Dried apples & bananas, milk & cookies, yogurt, grapes, beef jerky
What I would do if I were suddenly made a billionaire: Buy a house and a Honda odyssey and invest a big chunk. Re-do my parents house. Go somewhere fabulous with my husband and donate some to a worthy charity.
5 places I have lived: Houston, TX....Bear River, UT......Evanston, WY....Shelton, WA......Rexburg, ID
5 jobs that I have had: Lifeguard/swim teacher, Mom, Jewelry Department manager, Waitress, daycare teacher
5 Things people don't know about me: I don't like shoes I prefer to be barefoot, I worked in a factory making airbag explosives, I don't like salad, My favorite sea animal is a manatee, my favorite land animal is a wombat, I can curl my tongue to look like a flower.
Ok, I tag 1.Jenn 2.Meagan 3.Mollie!!

Two year old girls

Haylee came over today while her mom was at a meeting. The first 2 hours went great the girls loved playing dress-up and dancing. They had a little tea party and played in the tent. But then it got a little emotional...Allison was pouting for no apparent reason and Haylee cried when I took a toy away from Allison. Then Haylee bonked her toe and needed a hug and Allison pretended to get hurt so I wouldn't forget she was there too. In the girls defense they are both sick so I am sure that had something to do with it. I love these little two year olds they keep life interesting.

Just another Tuesday

Allison had fun stamping some thank you cards today, surprisingly all the ink stayed on the paper. For breakfast we had eggs and toast with a valentines flare, Allison LOVED it! And poor Emma she is having a rough day, she won't eat and she is having a hard time sleeping it is so weird she is usually super happy baby.

Gimme a...
C-U-T-I-E!

This is Emma in her cute cheerleading outfit. My dad actually bought it for Alli when she was little but now it's Emma's turn to wear it. I must say Emma fills it out a bit better than Allison. By the time the waist fit Alli the shirt and jacket were way to small. I love Emma's little chubby legs in this skirt.
Yee-haw!

The Target store by our house is closing for year to be remodeled so they have been marking down some of their merchandise which has been great! I got the ocean wonders aquarium for Emma's crib for only $9 (yeah!) and Allison found these stylish cowgirl boots for $4. She wants to wear them everywhere and because she is a cowgirl now(as she says) I included some pictures of her playing with her horses.
Doggy Sweater
Rice Cereal

So I thought I would try giving Emma some rice cereal to see how she likes it. Allison started cereal at about this age but she never liked it. Emma did OK for the first time around...she wasn't sure about the texture and she made lots of cute funny faces. Her favorite part was gumming the spoon it must have felt good on her incoming teeth.

New Locket

Grandma Gwen sent Allison a new locket this week. It was fun to watch Allison check the mail every day as she waited (Somewhat) patiently for her package to arrive. Inside the locket were 2 pictures one of her cousins and the other of Vinny, grandma's dog. She liked the pictures but then asked where Libby was. Libby is grandma's cat...actually Libby is my cat that my parents inherited when I left home. Thanks for taking care of her Mom! Allison loves her locket and she shows everyone her pictures...so cute!
Just another day in paradise!

Playing Dress Up

We keep all of Allison's dress up clothes in this pink bench but it is kind of deep for her to get everything out so she figured she would just climb in and get what she needed.
Allison and I dressed up and were dancing around last night, we were trying to make Ben laugh while he was on the phone...I think I was laughing more than he was.
Kids say the darndest things
While we were waiting for gymnastics to start today we saw an older lady with an eye patch. Allison shouted out "look mom she's a pirate!" I was so embarrassed but the older lady didn't hear her and the other lady in the room just laughed.
When we got home from gymnastics our neighbor who is a surfer was walking to his house wearing only his swim shorts and Allison said "look mom he's naked!" I thought I heard the guy laugh but he didn't turn around.

Allison was playing dress up with some pirate clothes and when she put on the black and white outfit she said..."I'm like an Elder, I am going on a mission." She loves the missionaries she calls them Elder Bank and Elder Cow...Their names are really Elder Banks and Elder Gau.

Another funny thing she says is "did you hang on him?" She says this every time I get off the phone, Because once I told her not to hang up on some one. There is never a dull moment with Allison around.
There were 4 in the Bed...
Girls Night

I had the privilege to babysit for a friend last night. Haylee and Sydney joined Me, Allison, and Emma for an all girls night. We did lots of projects, one of them was a pirate's eye patch since we had just seen the Veggietales pirate movie.
Allison and Haylee kept giving each other hugs and knocking each other over. Silly girls!
Sydney was the first to fall asleep but before she drifted off to dream land she asked to snuggle with Emma. They were so cute. The pictures don't do the moment justice because they are making silly faces because of the flash.
All the girls were finally asleep and apparently I dozed off in the chair to because I was awakened by Jenn and Aaron when they arrived to pick up their girls. I guess the girls wore me out!
It was a fun night and I hope we get to do it again soon.
Day at the Movies
On Saturday we took Allison to her first movie in the Theater. We went and saw The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything, it was a Veggietales movie.

It was lots of fun Allison wore her Veggitales overalls and brought her Larry and Junior stuffed toys along with her. We were joined at the theater by several of Alli's friends...Haylee, Sydney, James, & Jenn.

I loved watching Allison's face as she watched the movie start, she was so amazed and joyful. If only all of us could be that easily impressed. I Love how kids find joy in simple things...and in popcorn! Allison loved her popcorn and little drink, it came in a special box that had the movie characters on it.
I thought the whole experience was great, however I don't think I will ever look at Cheese puffs/Cheetos the same again. (you will understand if you see the movie)

Little Beyonce
This Beyonce song was playing on our computer and out of no where Alli starts singing, it was so cute!
Cute tid-bits of Allison
I wore my hair down yesterday for the first time in a long time and Allison told me "I like your hair, you look like a Barbie mommy." It was really cute, if only I had some of Barbies other features...like that tiny little waist.
Allison is so cute when she wakes up in the morning she comes in and says "how was your good sleep?" or during the day she will ask "how is your good day?" She is quite the optimist not giving me a chance to say its a bad day.
When we drove by the temple today she said "mommy I am going to get a recommend and get married in the temple to you ok!?" I told her that sounded great except she needs to find a nice boy to marry instead of mommy.

New shoes

These are my new shoes...I love them! For those of you who didn't know me before I had kids this is a good example of something that I used to wear. My mom and sister still say... "those are Jordan shoes" or "that's a Jordan outfit" every time they see something that is a little wild and loud. I'm not sure why I stopped wearing fun and wild things but I think I want to start again. Ben bought me these shoes because he also misses my former loud self. The problem now of course is I have nothing to wear with these cute shoes... I guess I will have to go shopping(what a bummer!)

Growing up
I actually did Allison's hair today and she actually didn't throw a fit, it was great! When I was finished and I looked at her I almost cried, she is getting so big. She is not my little baby anymore and I am not sure if I am ready for her to grow up. I will miss all of her cute little faces she makes and her innocence. I am sure she will have plenty more little faces to give me when she is a teenager. Some cute things she has been doing are...
she loves making up and telling stories. Yesterday she said "once upon a time there was a little girl named daddy." she stopped and laughed and then continued "not a little girl, so silly, a beautiful little boy named daddy."
She also thanks me for cooking dinner every time we eat which I love and she said her first dinner prayer all on her own the other night.
If she doesn't suggest something herself she won't do it and it we help her with anything she will re-do it herself. For example I asked her if she wanted a doll she said yes so I went and got it...oops! She got a little frustrated and then went and put the doll back where it was. She looked at me very independently then grabbed the doll herself.
First day of Gymnastics
Today was Allison's first day of gymnastics she is in the class with her little friend Haylee. They were so cute running around in their leotards.

I think Allison liked the jumpy thing the best, she even ignored bubbles to be able to jump on it by herself.

After class we went across the street to the toy store to get a "gummy ball" as the kids called it. This was Allison's first gumball as well, I think she liked it but it did end up on the floor of Jen's van...sorry Jen!

Bumps and bruises

So I have noticed that Allison always has some sort of scratch or bruise one her which I know is normal for a toddler but I hope she will out grow her clumsiness before she really hurts herself. Below are a few of her funny and not so funny additions to her bumps and bruises.
Yesterday Allison said "mom, I have an ankle on my foot" I thought it was funny how she said it but didn't think much of it. Later that night she was playing with her ankle and I looked at it and it had a big scrape on it...I guess she was trying to say she had a scratch on her ankle...sometimes I wish I spoke toddler.
Then today we were leaving target and I thought Ben was carrying Allison and I was pushing the cart and the cart got stuck on something...or I should say someone. Yes I ran over my own daughter I felt really bad but in my defense it is hard to see over a infant car seat. Allison forgave me and I don't even think I left a mark.
The picture is of Allison today when she was trying on her tiara she made and ended up tripping over herself and falling into our bed frame. She was not such a happy princess.
My favorite Allison mishap is when she starts running around the house and ends up running into the wall. I know that sounds awful but she only runs into it because she is so busy staring at herself in the mirror on the wall as she runs past to make the proper turn around the corner. She hasn't ever gotten hurt surprisingly but she still hasn't learned to pay better attention. :)
Every time Alli gets hurt she always asks for a band aid so as you can guess we go through a lot of those. It is funny to watch her put them on because they are no where near where her injuries are.
