Funny Kids

Today Emma was chewing on her thumb which isn't unusual but she had her pointer finger stuck up her nose at the same time, it was so funny! Another funny thing today was when Allison asked for some milk she said..."can I have some milk your highness?" I tried to keep a straight face and said sure sweetie!

Baking Cookies

Today we had a good time rolling out cookie dough and cutting out shapes. Allison liked the dolphin shaped ones and I liked that we had matching pink aprons (thanks to Grandma!)

More from art class

It was a fun glitter and glue day at art class. We did some fun fall art projects, I must say I was hoping for more wintry craft projects but I guess it is still November.

My new niece

This is my first niece (on my side of the family I have like 16 on Ben's side) Her name is Adeline and I think she is just adorable!

Crazy Hair

I can finally pull all of Allison's hair in to pony tails. It takes 3 of them to do it, but still it is a wonderful thing! She looks so grown up when she actually lets me do her hair, most days it is crazy curls all over the place. I wonder if Emma's hair will curl like Allison's.

Christmas, Christmas time is here...

I love Christmas! First of all I love the decorations, usually I put mine up the day after Thanksgiving but this year I didn't get them up until Sunday. Since then my tree has been re-decorated several times...the bottom branches are a little droopy because they have so many ornaments on them.

The second thing I love about Christmas are the crafts. Allison and I did our first 2 Christmas crafts today. First we made a Santa out of her hand print, she loved getting messy with the paint. Then we made a reindeer out of a paper bag. The reindeer in the picture was our second attempt the first one looked like a cat with crazy hair. If I would have had a jingle bell I would have put it on a pipe cleaner and used that around the reindeer neck instead of just drawing it on. Also I couldn't find a red pom-pom so the nose is kind of boring. I seriously had every color even sparkly ones just not red...Poor Rudolph!
And the third thing I love about Christmas are the smells. I love the smell of pine trees, fresh baked cookies, and cinnamon pine cones. When I need a little Christmas smell boost I like to put some oranges, cinnamon, bay leaves and cloves in a pan and simmer them on my stove.
Oh I know I already mentioned I love Cutie mandarin oranges, but now they have these cute sayings on them which makes me love them even more. Also Allison says "I need a cutie mom" which is pretty cute!

Fun at the beach

Some people wake up insanely early on the day after Thanksgiving to go shopping...not us. We woke up at a normal time and then decided to go to the beach. It was a little cold but still fun. Allison put on her rain boots with her swim suit I can't keep a straight face at some of the outfits she wears.

Happy Turkey Day!

This year for Thanksgiving we drove to Chino Hills to visit our friends the Welckers, Robin & Tyler. The food was so yummy and we had so much fun talking and playing games. Allison loves Tyler they played Candyland together. She also kept calling everything adorable...she is so cute!

feeling crafty

So I made salt dough a few days ago and Allison and I made some Christmas ornaments. Now my salt dough turned out ok, but nothing like my Aunt Wendy's (she is amazing with salt dough) i will have to get her recipe or maybe she has a secret to her success...I am sure years of practice helps. After we baked our ornaments we painted them, Allison loves mixing the colors! We also as a family filled glass ornaments with paint and made some beautifully colored ornaments.

The other pictures are from art class today. My favorite is the cornucopia. Which by the way I am shocked how many people don't know its called a cornucopia, where have they been for every Thanksgiving.

Happy Anniversary

Tomorrow I have the opportunity to celebrate Thanksgiving and my anniversary on the same day. At first I was a little bummed that I had to share either occasion but now I realize it is kind of perfect to share the day. I am so thankful that Ben is my husband, I am thankful we have survived 4 year of marriage and I am thankful for our children so why not celebrate on the day set aside for being thankful! Another plus is that we don't have to spend lots of money eating out because we will get a awesome meal at home.

I was looking up what the traditional gift was for a 4th anniversary and it is fruit& flowers or the modern gift is electrical appliances. I thought is was a fun coincidence that we just got a new washer and dryer I guess that will be our gift to each other.

I also have to explain the picture from this posting...I love green bean casserole! Thanksgiving would not be the same without it and this year I am in charge of bringing it. I sent Ben to the store to get the french fried onions he returned 45 minutes later with no onions and a story of him and two store clerks searching the store for these non-existent onions. I was positive that they carried them so I went on my own quest. I walked in the store and headed for the canned vegetable isle and WOW! what do you know there were several cans of French's french fried onions right next to the green beans. Seriously if it was a snake it would have bitten me! But all is well I will get to have my green bean casserole for thanksgiving & my anniversary!

simply amazing

I love when simple things amaze me. For example it amazes me how many different things you can make out of your hand print...an elephant, sheep, turkey...the list is endless if you have a good imagination. It also amazes me when simple things have lots of uses like this old cookie tub that now holds Allison's play dough stuff (I got the idea of using these tubs from my friend Mollie who keeps her boys cars in them...genius!)

Gymboree

Allison loves open play at Gymboree. Today she was a little bit territorial, she would get mad if anyone else even looked at her purple ball. Her favorite two things are jumping on the trampoline and getting a stamp on her belly when she leaves.

Laughter

Yesterday during a slighty intense primary presidencey meeting Emma Laughed for the first time. It was so cute! I forgot how a babies laughter makes you feel so joyful. I am sad Ben missed it but I am sure she will do it again.

Sleeping in the fort

Ben and Allison made a fort today using a big blanket draped over the changing table and Emma's crib. She had lots of fun playing in it and I guess she liked it so much she decided to sleep in it! I went in to check on her before I went to sleep and she wasn't in her bed but I could see her little toes sticking out from the fort. I had to take a picture I thought it was so cute.

Kickin It

Sorry this video is a little dark, but I think it is so funny when Emma gets here legs kicking and her arms going. She gets going pretty fast. Allison used to do the exact same thing, I love finding similarities with the girls it reminds me of how cute Allison was but I love to see how different they are too.

Bath Time

Emma loves bathtime, I think she mostly loves the being naked part! I love how she smells afterwords. Allison has a love/hate relationship

with the bath. She throws a fit when we try to put her in the tub and she throws an even bigger fit when we try to take her out. Why can't she just choose to remember that she likes to play in the bath. I also love bath time but these days it seems like I have to schedual it in when Ben is home and it has to be short other wise our little family universe will drop out of orbit. I think when Ben asks me what I want for Christmas I will tell him an hour long bubble with NO interuptions!

New Washer & Dryer

I am so excited because last night we got a new washer and dryer. They are not brand new they are about 6 months old but they run perfectly and they are very quiet...unlike our old washer. It sounded like you were inside a jet engine when it would go to the spin cycle. In the old washers defense it was probably 10 years old and had been handed down to us from my great Aunt and moved several times. So our old washer & dryer were made by hotpoint which is the low end of appliances and our new ones are whirlpool...we are slowly moving up to greatness! Since I knew we were getting a new washer & dryer I didn't do laundry last week, that was a big mistake becasue now I have mountain in my bedroom.

Crafts and Cuteness

I am not sure if cuteness is a word but thats what I think when I see my girls. Today for craft time we made a turkey out of a paper bag. Allison colored the bag I put a roll of toilet paper inside

to fill it out. Next we glued on the eyes, feet and a beak. Allison's favorite part was glueing the feathers...I let her do the glue.

Alphapillar

Haylee played with us again today it was lots of fun. Allison and Haylee kept giving each other hugs and tipping over. While I was shopping today I found this alphapillar, its a catapillar that has the alphabet letters on it. Allison has been carrying it around singing the ABC's all night.

THE SAN DIEGO TEMPLE

I love living just down the street from this amazing building. These pictures were taken while the landscape was being re-done, usually it is all green.

Farm Art

We went to art class today at Gymboree. Allison learned all about the farm animals today. We traced her hands and made a sheep, we were only supposed to use one hand, but Allison wanted to use two so her sheep has 8 legs. Making the pigs muddy mess was lots of fun, we got to use foam paint, it felt like shaving cream. One little girl wouldn't touch it she said it was kitty poop. And yes, Allison insisted on wearing her goggles to class, she took them off really quick because they were blocking her creativity!

Here are some new pics of Emma. In the one she is covered in puke, this happens about every other day. She is starting to lose some of her hair in the back, but not nearly as bad as Allison did. She loves sucking on her fists and she is starting to grab at things.

Feeding the Missionaries

Allison told me her missionaries were hungry and she took two little pieces from my sandwhich and gave to them. It was really cute.
We also fed the missionaries not to long ago and now every time we sit down to eat she asks where the missionaries are.

Fun with Haylee

Haylee came over today and we did crafts, danced (a whole bunch), and ate muffins & mac-n-cheese.

Tummy Time

I pulled out the tummy time mat for Emma today, she loved it! When she was finished it was covered in drool but that didn't stop Allison from wanting her turn on it.
