Salmon Days

We had our first experience at Salmon Days today. We went with a bunch of friends the Teeples, Warners & Cooks we are so blessed to have met such wonderful people since we have moved here to Renton.
The morning started off with a parade, bagels & Jamba juice! The girls seemed to like the floats and all the bands. During the parade it didn't rain so that was a bonus. My favorite moments from the parade were 1. Payton called the cheerleaders the Chili-people 2.Allison noticed she and the other kids were being photographed and she moved to the front of the picture. 3. All the kids groovin to the music.
After the parade it started to rain which was a bummer but I finally got to try out my rain cover for my stroller...it is fabulous! The kids stayed cozy and warm...Ben wishes he would have stayed cozy and warm. Since it was Salmon Days we headed over to the salmon hatchery and watched the Salmon they are pretty amazing but kind of ugly. Earlier this week I taught Allison a little about Salmon like what baby Salmon are called (Frys). She said "like french fries? Can I eat them?" She also can list several kinds of Salmon her favorites are pink but she also knows about coho and sockeye...which she calls socks!
When we had our fill of watching the Salmon swim up the ladder we headed for the food, nothing like corn on the cob mine and Allison's favorite. We also rode the train and decorated a pumpkin but the rain wasn't letting up so we finally called it a day. We had lots of fun Thanks Teeples family for sharing a special tradition with us.
