New shoes

These are my new shoes...I love them! For those of you who didn't know me before I had kids this is a good example of something that I used to wear. My mom and sister still say... "those are Jordan shoes" or "that's a Jordan outfit" every time they see something that is a little wild and loud. I'm not sure why I stopped wearing fun and wild things but I think I want to start again. Ben bought me these shoes because he also misses my former loud self. The problem now of course is I have nothing to wear with these cute shoes... I guess I will have to go shopping(what a bummer!)

Growing up

I actually did Allison's hair today and she actually didn't throw a fit, it was great! When I was finished and I looked at her I almost cried, she is getting so big. She is not my little baby anymore and I am not sure if I am ready for her to grow up. I will miss all of her cute little faces she makes and her innocence. I am sure she will have plenty more little faces to give me when she is a teenager.

Some cute things she has been doing are...
she loves making up and telling stories. Yesterday she said "once upon a time there was a little girl named daddy." she stopped and laughed and then continued "not a little girl, so silly, a beautiful little boy named daddy."

She also thanks me for cooking dinner every time we eat which I love and she said her first dinner prayer all on her own the other night.

If she doesn't suggest something herself she won't do it and it we help her with anything she will re-do it herself. For example I asked her if she wanted a doll she said yes so I went and got it...oops! She got a little frustrated and then went and put the doll back where it was. She looked at me very independently then grabbed the doll herself.

First day of Gymnastics

Today was Allison's first day of gymnastics she is in the class with her little friend Haylee. They were so cute running around in their leotards.

I think Allison liked the jumpy thing the best, she even ignored bubbles to be able to jump on it by herself.

After class we went across the street to the toy store to get a "gummy ball" as the kids called it. This was Allison's first gumball as well, I think she liked it but it did end up on the floor of Jen's van...sorry Jen!

Bumps and bruises

So I have noticed that Allison always has some sort of scratch or bruise one her which I know is normal for a toddler but I hope she will out grow her clumsiness before she really hurts herself. Below are a few of her funny and not so funny additions to her bumps and bruises.

Yesterday Allison said "mom, I have an ankle on my foot" I thought it was funny how she said it but didn't think much of it. Later that night she was playing with her ankle and I looked at it and it had a big scrape on it...I guess she was trying to say she had a scratch on her ankle...sometimes I wish I spoke toddler.

Then today we were leaving target and I thought Ben was carrying Allison and I was pushing the cart and the cart got stuck on something...or I should say someone. Yes I ran over my own daughter I felt really bad but in my defense it is hard to see over a infant car seat. Allison forgave me and I don't even think I left a mark.

The picture is of Allison today when she was trying on her tiara she made and ended up tripping over herself and falling into our bed frame. She was not such a happy princess.

My favorite Allison mishap is when she starts running around the house and ends up running into the wall. I know that sounds awful but she only runs into it because she is so busy staring at herself in the mirror on the wall as she runs past to make the proper turn around the corner. She hasn't ever gotten hurt surprisingly but she still hasn't learned to pay better attention. :)

Every time Alli gets hurt she always asks for a band aid so as you can guess we go through a lot of those. It is funny to watch her put them on because they are no where near where her injuries are.

Bathtime Magic

Allison got several bath things in her stocking for Christmas and I found them today as I finally unpacked the last of our bags. She was so excited to use her dinosaur fizzy egg and her expanding washcloth. The washcloth was a little anti-climactic but she still loved it and then I dropped the fizzy egg into the tub...it imidiatly started fizzing and turning the water purple. Allison started to cry/freak out. She was half way out of the tub by the time I had her calmed down. She was excited to get the dinosaur out of the fizzing mass but after that she very quickly got out of the tub I don't think she liked the purple water.

4 months old

Emma had her 4 month check up today which also included shots but she did amazingly well. It was kind of funny because she was concentrating so hard on pooping that she didn't even cry or notice her shots. The nurse kept laughing as Emma turned red and grunted and then she passed gas several times, good thing she is to young to be embarrassed. Finally she pooped but by then the shots were over.
Emma weighed in at 13lbs 13oz and she is 25 3/4 inches long. All the nurses loved her and she almost rolled over for the first time during her exam..she is sooooo close! I can't believe she is already 4 months old it seems like she was just born, actually it seems like I was just a child not to long ago.

Princess Fort

Ben Grandparents Harlo and Sylvia dropped off their other granddaughter Courtney to play with Allison during their Dr. appointments yesterday. The girls had fun playing doctor and building forts out of the princess mats. It was interesting to see how an 8 year old plays compared to how a 2 year old plays. Courtney pretended to be on the phone with 911 because the house was on fire and we had to evacuate. Its funny to see how events in our lives play out in our children's play time, I think Courtney's family evacuated during the fires last year.

I love to Read

So another thing I discovered over Christmas vacation was how much I love to read. I haven't read a whole book in a very long time, but Ruth let me borrow the book Twilight by Stephenie Meyer to read over Christmas break. She thought I would like it since it take place rather close to my home town in Washington. She was right I loved it, I could picture the setting and even the school and town mentioned seemed similar to the one I grew up in. I finished Twilight in 3 days, it would have been sooner but I still had to be social I was visiting family! I was so excited to read the next book New Moon and Eclipse but no where in my small home town had them in stock so I had to wait until the day after Christmas to go into the nearest Barnes and Noble. I finished the Second two books a few days later and I can't wait for the next book to come out. Ben was so fascinated that i read them so fast and liked them so much that he has even started reading Twilight.

Dr. Play

Allison got a Dr. kit for Christmas she says "you wanna play Dr. play you are sick?" She used to play Dr. using the plastic cutlery we have I feel much safer as her patient now that she isn't using a fork and knife! She also likes to operate on her stuffed animals hopefully she doesn't get any ideas about operating on Emma.

Old Friends

I love getting to visit my friends from back home, even though it may be months or even years in between we still can talk and feel like we haven't missed a day. This time was really special because their are two new additions my Emma and Missy's daughter Cadence, I love her hair...she is so cute! Plus Amanda and Josh got married this past summer and I finally got to see her wedding photos (I couldn't go because I was 8 months pregnant!)

Also My other friend Katteri just came home from Iraq I was so happy to see her, we played guitar hero...I am awful at that game and I looked pretty goofy doing it!
